One of our oldest and most popular competitions, the National Scholar STEM Research Paper Competition is back for 2024. This special competition provides budding scientists with a platform through which they can present their research and demonstrate STEM aptitude. Students with strong passion for a specific STEM subject or topic are encouraged to pursue independent research and submit their completed papers for review.
Submissions will be judged on the researchers’ ability to develop, execute, and articulate their research methodologies, draw meaningful conclusions from their data, and present their findings coherently. All participants must be enrolled in an accredited secondary (high school) program as of August 31, 2024.
Research categories span a broad range of STEM disciplines, including Astronomy, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Physics, and current technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Subcategories include original research and review papers.
Students must register through an accredited school or community program and must have an approved faculty mentor. Students who do not meet these criteria will be deregistered and their registration fees will be refunded. To register your organization, please click here.
To qualify for the competition, students must submit a research abstract of less than 350 words in PDF format.
Registration for the 2024 National Scholar Individual STEM Research Paper Competition will close at 11:59 pm on August 31, 2024. Qualifying finalists will be notified by email and will be required to submit their completed papers, formatted in accordance with current APA guidelines by September 5, 2024.
